Dennis Sloan first picked up a camera in 2009 when he joined the United States Air Force as a photojournalist. By the end of his service, he had earned prestigious awards for both photography and journalism—notably from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Department of Defense, and National Geographic's Your Shot.
After retiring from the military, Dennis earned a Bachelor’s in Film from Full Sail University in 2018. There, he deepened his expertise in lighting and camera techniques, working on campus soundstages as a lighting intern where he excelled in the roles of Director of Photography and Gaffer. He also continued honing his still photography skills, landing behind-the-scenes gigs on film sets throughout the Orlando, Florida area.
After film school, Dennis embarked on a personal journey with his camera, returning to his childhood roots in Missouri. Surrounded by nature and the elements, he captured the stunning landscapes of Innsbrook, producing his first professional photo series since retiring from the military.
Rejuvenated by his time in nature, Dennis returned to Full Sail University for online courses in graphic design and 3D arts. Combining these new skills with years of studio experimentation at his home in the Austin, Texas area, he has evolved into a fine art photographer and digital artist. His current albums, Micro Machines and Banned Flavors, represent a striking and bold new chapter in his work.
