SLOAN
Dennis Sloan first picked up a camera in 2009 at the age of 19 when he joined the United States Air Force as a photojournalist. Over the course of his military service, he earned prestigious awards for photography and journalism from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Department of Defense, and National Geographic’s Your Shot.
After retiring from the military, Dennis earned a Bachelor’s in Film from Full Sail University in 2018, where he deepened his skills in lighting, cinematography, and visual storytelling. He later returned to Full Sail to complete a certificate in Graphic Design to better support the printing and presentation of his photographic work.
Now 36, Dennis has spent nearly two decades behind the lens. His journey as a photographer has taken him across vastly different worlds — from military assignments and film sets in Florida, to capturing the vibrant wildflower fields of Austin, Texas, the frozen lakes and lush landscapes of Missouri, and candid, soulful portraits of people he has met along the way. These experiences have shaped a distinctive eye that finds beauty in both raw human connection and the powerful, colorful presence of nature.
Today, Dennis works as a seasoned fine art photographer, creating images that blend technical mastery with a deep appreciation for light, place, emotion, and story.
